Assange: Russian government not the source of WikiLeaks emails

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that Democrats lost last year’s presidential election because of what he called “the rigging of the primary process” to nominate Hillary Clinton.

In Part II of the exclusive interview with Assange, which aired Wednesday night on “Hannity,” the Australian said that the Democratic Party has a chance to “go through a reformation” after Clinton’s defeat at the hands of Republican Donald Trump.

During the election campaign, Wikileaks published thousands of leaked emails detailing apparent favoritism shown to Clinton by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) during her primary battle against Sen. Bernie Sanders.

“It can only go through that reformation if it looks at the genuine reasons for the loss,” Assange said. “The genuine reason, to my mind, for the loss, is [that] they didn’t pick the strongest candidate … That didn’t happen. Why didn’t it happen? Because the DNC … no longer represented the genuine interests of the Democratic party.

“So, my message to the U.S. Democratic Party is … Take the information that we have published, which shows who the different players are and how they work within the DNC, learn from it and reform.”

Hannity interviewed Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where Assange has been holed up for five years while he battles extradition to Sweden on sexual assault charges.

Assange also encouraged President-elect Donald Trump to embrace Wikileaks’ philosophy of transparency, and praised Trump for communicating directly with Americans rather than using the mainstream media.

“If you can get the information out as soon as possible, then you can correct as soon as possible,” Assange said. “So I think that Donald Trump, early on in his administration, he needs to set a standard. He needs to go to someone in that Cabinet, ‘OK, you’re a friend, maybe even [an] ally, but you did the wrong thing here by the American people, so you’re fired.’ And that standard needs to be set early.”

‘An absolute embarrassment’: This Democratic senator lashes out at Harry Reid over Trump comments – TheBlaze

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) sharply criticized Democratic senatorial leader Sen. Harry Reid (Nev.) late Friday, calling the longtime Democratic leader “an absolute embarrassment to the Senate as an institution, our Democratic party, and the nation.”

Manchin’s comments came in response to Reid releasing a statement on Friday that completely denounced President-elect Donald Trump. In part, Reid labeled Trump a “sexual predator” that “lost the popular vote.”

Machin, who is one of the most conservative Democrats in the Senate, believes Reid’s outright opposition to the will of the people is a disgrace — and that it’s only helping to further divide the nation.

“I want to be very clear, he does not speak for me,” Manchin said of Reid, according to a statement. “As difficult as it is for anyone to lose an election, the American people have spoken and Donald Trump is our President-elect. Senator Reid’s words needlessly feed the very divisiveness that is tearing this country apart.”

“We are Americans first, not Democrats or Republicans first,” he added. “Unfortunately, there are some who forget that at times like these it is wrong to put party and politics above our country.”

Several news publications on Election Day reported that Manchin would begin to caucus with the Republicans in the Senate, but he later denied the reports.

Manchin is up for re-election in 2018.

Dems brace for bad news as FBI indicates ‘more than 100 party officials and groups’ have been hacked by Russians

The FBI has started briefing Congress on what it knows about the hack of the DNC emails, blaming Russia.  While those Dems still feeding media hysteria that Trump committed treason by inviting disclosure of Hillary’s 33,000 deleted emails “if they have them” would regard this a good news, there was some absolutely terrible news for them.  Eric Lichtbau and Eric Schmitt of the New York Times report:

A Russian cyberattack that targeted Democratic politicians was bigger than it first appeared and breached the private email accounts of more than 100 party officials and groups, officials with knowledge of the case said Wednesday.

The widening scope of the attack has prompted the F.B.I. to broaden its investigation, and agents have begun notifying a long list of Democratic officials that the Russians may have breached their personal accounts. (snip)

F.B.I. officials briefed staff members of House and Senate Intelligence Committees last week on the investigation into the theft of emails and documents from the Democratic National Committee.

As for Trump’s invitation to Russia:

The F.B.I. says it has no direct evidence that Mrs. Clinton’s private email server was hacked by the Russians or anyone else. But in June, the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, said that intruders had tried, and that any successful intruders were probably far too skilled to leave evidence of their intrusion behind. Law enforcement officials said he had the Russians in mind.

As D.K. emailed me this morning:

Extremely unlikely that the bad guys didn’t also hack the private server Hillary used while at State.  Why wouldn’t they?  Kindness, indifference?  Why?

I’d say the odds are pretty good the Russians have Hillary’s secret email stash.  I am expecting a lot of surprises by Nov. 8.

Wikileaks releases hacked DNC voicemails — RT America

On the third day of the Democratic National Convention, when President Barack Obama and vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine are scheduled to speak, WIkileaks has released hacked voicemails from top Democratic officials.

The new material from the pro-transparency publisher includes 29 phone calls, totaling about 14 minutes. Many of them are complaints directed at the Democratic National Committee.

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange warned CNN there would be “a lot more material” to come, following the publishing of hacked Democratic National Committee internal emails this past Friday.

“I’m furious about what you are doing for Bernie Sanders,” a caller from the 480 area code, which covers Phoenix, Arizona, said in one voicemail message, listed as file #16014. “He is getting way too much influence. I am on fixed income and I spent over $300 donated to Hillary, and what I see is the DNC bending over backwards for Bernie. And Bernie is the worst person in the world even to be running in a Democratic party because he is not a Democratic. Please don’t give into him. I don’t care about Sanders supporters, most of them are going to vote for Hillary anyway. Quit acquiescing to this person who likes to play the victim card, and who also has been attacking Hillary which gives Trump all his talking points. I will leave the Democratic Party if the Democratic Party continues to coddle Bernie Sanders. Get rid of the a**hole.”

Two calls from the 480 area code complained about the Democratic National Committee’s catering to Sanders, wondering why the DNC allowed Cornell West to join the committee when he was “such trash.”

Most of the voicemail messages were simply leaving names and numbers for a call back, or leaving reminders about conference calls.

One person, calling from the 267 area code of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was looking for how to reach the First Lady, Michele Obama. It is file #16663 in the Wikileaks list.

“Someone from the Free Library wanted to know what is the best way to reach contact Michelle Obama with an invitation inviting her to participate in some wonderful event and development relating to the library, and the hospital for children, and some other facilities coming together.
They think it will be right up her alley. How is best to communicate with her? Does she have a secretary? What is the best channel to go through? Thanks so much. Bye.”

Wilikeaks released nearly 20,000 emails this past Friday, showing collusion at the top levels of the governing body of the Democratic Party, which forced the resignation of DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Trump, Pence Blast DNC Speakers ‘Not One of Them Named ISIS’

Republican nominee Donald Trump and his running mate Indiana Gov. Mike Pence criticized the Democratic Party for not talking about the threat of terrorism and ISIS during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Monday night.

During an appearance at the VFW on Tuesday morning, Pence recalled the speakers at the DNC on Monday, saying, “It is extraordinary to think yesterday in Philadelphia, 61 speakers came to the podium and not one of them named ISIS by name.”

“This man,” Pence declared, referencing Trump, “will name our enemies without apology and he will defeat them.”

The DNC and Debbie Wasserman Schultz insult Bernie and 12 million Americans | Fox News

More than 12 million Americans voted for Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary contest. Over 2 million sent in money – at $27 a pop, on average – to finance his campaign. Millions more felt the Bern, turned out for his rallies and cheered on his promised revolution.

Little did all those folks know that the Vermont senator with the raspy voice and big ideas never had a chance. As Sanders often suggested, the Democratic National Committee decided that Hillary Clinton would be their party’s presidential nominee long before any votes were cast. It turns out the Democratic Party isn’t so democratic after all.

The DNC, headed by longtime Clinton ally Debbie Wasserman Schultz, created a debate schedule that guaranteed low viewership, was designed to stifle competition and made sure Hillary’s dominance in superdelegates would keep rivals at bay. There was so much bad blood late last year that Sanders sued the DNC after the party denied his campaign access to important voter data, a suit that was later dismissed.

From the start, the Clinton machine rolled right over Sanders like a steamroller.

As we now know from leaked emails, Wasserman Schultz was actively conspiring with operatives in her organization to discredit Sanders, to spread stories questioning his religious beliefs and to throw obstacles in his path. “He isn’t going to be president,” Wasserman Schultz proclaimed in one email message. She didn’t need to add: “if I can help it.”

And that, it turns out, was just the beginning.

Why is anyone surprised? Wasserman Schultz was co-chair of Clinton’s failed campaign in 2008, but she undermined Clinton’s confidence by secretly reaching out and pledging her support to Barack Obama even before the primaries were finished. Long criticized as putting her career ahead of the party and for ethical lapses, like arguing that the DNC should pay for her wardrobe, Wasserman Schultz had to scramble to win back Clinton’s support and to squash critics who wanted her out of the prestigious post. Nothing could prove more effective than ruthlessly blocking Clinton’s potential rivals.

In spite of everything, Sanders did a heck of a job, trading on Clinton’s dishonesty and cynicism and lofting his socialist message to a new generation far to the left of its parents.

Clinton’s embrace of the dated policies of her husband’s presidency no longer satisfied the demands of the 21st century. Sanders came close, winning 1,846 delegates to her 2,205, not including superdelegates.

It was a remarkable run, especially in light of the obstacles thrown in his path by the DNC, and it set the course for the Democrat agenda.

Hillary tried to get rid of Sanders for months, batting at him like someone beset by gnats. Buoyed by his startling success in votes and fundraising, and clearly enjoying his notoriety, Sanders wouldn’t stand down.

In the end, Hillary had to pretend to buy into his progressive agenda. She adopted his stance on trade, coming out against Obama’s cherished TPP trade deal, which she had earlier endorsed. She came around to Sanders’ position on the minimum wage and on making college tuition-free. She denounced the Keystone Pipeline, even though would-be participants in that project had donated generously to the Clinton Foundation, which kept her on the fence for years. Hillary even started calling herself a progressive.

But none of it is real. Those Sanders followers who were deceived by the DNC have also been deceived by Clinton. In picking Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine as her running mate, she tossed the Sanders revolution overboard. Kaine is not a progressive; he does not share Sanders’ push for more bank regulation. He is not opposed to the TPP; he voted in favor of the fast-track authority that was meant to facilitate the deal.

Clinton bought Sanders off with some comforting left-wing language in the Democratic platform. It did the trick. Sanders conceded and has made it clear he will support Clinton.

His followers are not so sure; they have been marching in the streets. Already there have been more protests in Philadelphia than took place all last week during the Republican convention in Cleveland. The leaked emails have convinced them that their man was cheated, and they are correct.

Sanders set is to address the Democrat convention Monday night. Will he rally his supporters to back Clinton-Kaine? Or will he rail against the insulting treatment of his campaign?

It doesn’t really matter; his moment has passed. The Secretary of the Status Quo is firmly in charge.
